Andrea is a graduate student at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is working on her Master’s degree in Library Science and Information Technology. She is currently working on a couple of studies about the marketing of library services, fund raising and development programs for libraries, and instructional librarianship in health science libraries which she hopes to get published in the near future. Andrea loves serving as the coordinator for Reservoir, Sisterhood Bible study leader, and sidewalk counselor with Pro24. Andrea holds a special devotion to the Blessed Sacrament which began when she was child, and her grandmother used to take her to daily mass and adoration. She is blessed to share her love for Eucharistic Adoration with other Catholic young adults through Reservoir. Andrea’s favorite saints are St. Padre Pio, Pope St. John Paul II, St. Philomena and St. Anne. On her time off, she loves participating in the various CCS sports, baking and cooking for friends, going on fishing trips, traveling and hanging out with her cute godson.
Every day is Christmas for Emiley because of her awesome job at Hallmark on the Keepsake Ornament team. A graduate of the University of Missouri, Emiley loves using her marketing degree when talking to different licensors for the ornaments that she plans, including everyone from Disney to Lucasfilms to Warner Brothers. Emiley’s passion in life is the people in it – she loves being surrounded by family and friends and wants everyone to feel as welcomed to City On A Hill as she did when she joined. You can generally find Emiley at every CCS sport and meandering about the Meyer Catholic Quarter, smiling and being sarcastic.
Eddie grew up in Kansas City and spends his free time volunteering in the community- keeping Kansas City great! He graduated with a degree in exercise science and, after selling his lawn care business, chose to pursue a career in Sales. He currently trains sales professionals in time and revenue management.
Outside of work, Eddie enjoys sports, reading, networking and volunteering. He is also very active in his church, Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, as lector, Eucharistic minister, and member of the Knights of Columbus. You'll see Eddie at the Boulevard, making sure everything is set up just right for the night, and that you are all welcomed at the door!
Sarah spends her days teaching middle school students, a job description that usually makes people wince. She teaches English to 7th and 8th graders at a Catholic school and thoroughly enjoys kids that age, despite what the rest of the world thinks. Sarah spends her time reading, running, and talking about Harry Potter more than the average person.
Sarah joined a Sisterhood group four years ago and feels passionate about the ministry after it helped her connect to the young adult community in Kansas City, especially when she'd just moved here and didn't know anyone in City on a Hill. She always looks forward to Tuesday nights with her sisters!
Derek Roush is from Lawrence, Kansas and, fittingly, an avid Jayhawks fan. He enjoys meeting new people, developing relationships with them, and drinking beer with them. The source of any beer knowledge he possess has come from his college roommate Pete Ambrose. He had a short run as his brewing apprentice and hopes to develop the skill further after he graduates. Derek is a Mechanical Engineering major in his final year at Benedictine College. He hopes to find a job in Kansas City after graduation and continue to lead Catholic Beer Club in KC and get involved with the vibrant young adult Catholic atmosphere there. Derek’s favorite saint is St. John Paul II, and his favorite quote from this saint is the inspiration behind Derek’s passion for the New Evangelization:
We need saints who like movies, the theater, music, dance, sports…who are sanctified in the world… but not of the world.

Catherine is one of the thousands working for Cerner Corporation. A 2014 graduate of Benedictine College, she works as a Population Health Consultant instructing doctors/nurses on patient-centered models of care. Catherine is excited to be involved in the City on a Hill community as a Catholic Beer Club coordinator, party planner, and participant in CCS athletics. Aside from COAH, Catherine also sings in the Independence Messiah Choir and enjoys long walks on the Nelson Atkins lawn (there are no beaches nearby). Her favorite pastimes include reading, frequent visits to the Kauffman Center, talking politics and religion, and discovering all the restaurants in KC.
Katie Brady graduated from Benedictine College in 2012 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. She spent the next two years serving as a FOCUS Missionary on the East Coast at George Washington University in D.C. and at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. Katie most recently completed her first year at her dream job, teaching special education with students in 5th-8th grade at St. Therese North in Parkville, MO. Katie's favorite activities include meeting friends for daily Mass, baking cupcakes of every variety, watching Royals games, and finding the best places to eat in Kansas City. She enjoys hosting parties or impromptu gatherings at her house in the MCQ, and her policy is always, "the more the merrier".
Katie first heard about the MCQ after her freshman year at BC and has dreamt of one day being a part of the community ever since! In 2015, she was finally able to move in, adding a new house to the street with her two roommates. She is excited to now be leading this great community of Catholic young adults and to help it continue to grow! So, if you're looking for a new place to call home and would love to live in a vibrant community surrounded by other passionate Catholic young adults, go ahead and call her, maybe!
