KC Mass Mob

Emiley McCambridge

Emiley McCambridge

Every day is Christmas for Emiley because of her awesome job at Hallmark on the Keepsake Ornament team. A graduate of the University of Missouri, Emiley loves using her marketing degree when talking to different licensors for the ornaments that she plans, including everyone from Disney to Lucasfilms to Warner Brothers. Emiley’s passion in life is the people in it – she loves being surrounded by family and friends and wants everyone to feel as welcomed to City On A Hill as she did when she joined. You can generally find Emiley at every CCS sport and meandering about the Meyer Catholic Quarter, smiling and being sarcastic.

Sisterhood

Sarah Rajewski

Sarah Rajewski

Sarah spends her days teaching middle school students, a job description that usually makes people wince. She teaches English to 7th and 8th graders at a Catholic school and thoroughly enjoys kids that age, despite what the rest of the world thinks. Sarah spends her time reading, running, and talking about Harry Potter more than the average person.

Sarah joined a Sisterhood group four years ago and feels passionate about the ministry after it helped her connect to the young adult community in Kansas City, especially when she'd just moved here and didn't know anyone in City on a Hill. She always looks forward to Tuesday nights with her sisters!

Catholic Beer Club

Derek Roush

Derek Roush, CBC coordinator

Derek Roush is from Lawrence, Kansas and, fittingly, an avid Jayhawks fan. He enjoys meeting new people, developing relationships with them, and drinking beer with them. The source of any beer knowledge he possess has come from his college roommate Pete Ambrose. He had a short run as his brewing apprentice and hopes to develop the skill further after he graduates. Derek is a Mechanical Engineering major in his final year at Benedictine College. He hopes to find a job in Kansas City after graduation and continue to lead Catholic Beer Club in KC and get involved with the vibrant young adult Catholic atmosphere there. Derek’s favorite saint is St. John Paul II, and his favorite quote from this saint is the inspiration behind Derek’s passion for the New Evangelization:

We need saints who like movies, the theater, music, dance, sports…who are sanctified in the world… but not of the world.
